On October 4th 2009, the Friends of Westwood Library hosted its Literary Salon at Westwood's Hotel Palomar with Famed  Oscar® winning producer Walter Mirisch discussing his book "I Thought We Were Making Movies, Not History."  Los Angeles Times film critic Kevin Thomas interviewed Mr. Mirisch about his work, including such movies as "The Apartment," "West Side Story," and "In the Heat of the Night."  Following the discussion was a lovely food and wine reception in the hotel's signature restaurant, BLVD 16, capped off by a wonderful Silent Auction.
